The Froggie™ Hydrangea is an awe-inducing shrub that will brighten up a bed or mass planting during the summer. The delicate green petals of this mophead Hydrangea develop splashes of pink and transition into a mottled hot pink. The flowers are not the only showy part of this plant. The glossy, dark green foliage has slightly toothed edges, and by fall, the leaves turn a vibrant shade of red.

As an upright, mounded shrub, the Froggie™ Hydrangea is a good fit for borders, beds, mass plantings, or hedges. The flowers can be cut for use in arrangements. This compact shrub has thick stems that support the large blooms. The Froggie™ Hydrangea grows as a perennial in USDA zones 6 through 9.

Froggie™ Hydrangea Care

This cultivar can live in full sun to partial shade, but morning light and afternoon sun are ideal. Rich, moist soil that is well-draining and acidic will support healthy growth. Water weekly or when the top couple inches of soil dry out.

Feed this plant using a balanced fertilizer in the spring. Advanced gardeners may want to test the soil and use an acidic fertilizer. Prune after the flowers die back to shape this shrub.

Froggie™ Hydrangea Spacing

The Froggie™ Hydrangea is a mounded plant that will reach 3 to 4 feet tall and wide. Shrubs can be spaced 2 to 3 feet apart to create a hedge or dense mass planting.
