Enjoy the vining form of a clematis but with unique and long-lasting flowers with the Funyella™ Clematis. Also known as Clematis 'Golden Dream', this perennial features bell-shaped, nodding flowers that bloom in spring and summer. The flowers grow on burgundy stems. The blooms are light pink at the base and have pale yellow petals that come to a point. This cultivar blooms longer than many other clematis varieties, and the flowers have a mild grapefruit scent.
Clematis are vining plants that need something to climb. Give this beauty an arbor or trellis, or even a fence, mailbox, or a building, like a shed, for support. Include this plant in a mixed bed or border, use it as a specimen, or plant in a container for flexible placement options. This clematis is also heat tolerant and disease resistant, so not much will interfere with the lovely flowers. The Funyella™ Clematis grows in zones 4 through 9.
Funyella™ Clematis Care
The ideal planting location will have full sun to partial shade. A spot that allows the branches to thrive in the sun while the roots are in the shade is preferred. Clematis needs rich, loamy, moist, and well-drained soil that has a neutral pH. These plants like consistent water but struggle in overly wet or dry conditions. Apply a thick layer of organic mulch to retain moisture. Fertilize every four to six weeks to help this beauty bloom and thrive.
Prune young plants in the spring to encourage multiple leads and, ultimately, more flowers. Plants that have multiple leads do not need hard pruning. This variety does not require much trimming and shaping, but the Funyella™ Clematis blooms on old wood, so prune as needed after the flowers fade.

The vining Funyella™ Clematis reaches 6 to 10 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. Space plants 3 to 4 feet apart when creating a dense wall of vines.
