Growing Zones
Beloved by pollinators, a mainstay of Native American traditional gardens, and a fixture of sunny perennial borders worldwide, the showy summer flowers of tall garden phlox can carry a garden or a pot all by themselves. Glamour Girl offers luminous raspberry flowers, reblooms over a long season, and is resistant to the mildew that marred older cultivars, keeping its lush dark green foliage intact.
Glamour Girl will grow about 32 inches tall and wide, with an upright habit, making her a great choice for a summer container thriller, starring as a focal point in a garden bed, or massed in a spectacular drift in the middle or back of a sunny border. Butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds will join you in your admiration of this beauty.
Garden Girls Glamour Girl Phlox Care
Glamour Girl is hardy from Zones 4-8. Phlox are easy-growing, low maintenance plants. In hot humid areas, for best performance and mildew resistance, Glamour Girl should be sited with at least six hours of direct sun, well-spaced and watered via the soil versus the leaves. Her favorite soil will be average to fertile in quality, and neutral to acidic in pH. Consistent moisture is best; water particularly well the first two years while she is becoming established in your garden.
Fertilizing perhaps every other month will promote the most flower power. Deadheading will bring on even more flowers, lengthening your season of bloom, and prevent self-seeding, if desired.
Garden Girls Glamour Girl Phlox Spacing
You can expect Glamour Girl to spread about 32 inches, so you’ll want to allow that much for the best airflow, which can also help prevent mildew.
