The Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily is a long-blooming Alstroemeria that puts on a lovely floral display during the summer. The sunny yellow blooms have dark flecks on the throat and pinkish accents that add depth. The blooms stand on top of tall, sturdy stems. Green, lance-shaped foliage gives the plant a full and bushy appearance.
Peruvian lilies are native to South America and have an upright growth habit. The Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily is tall and reaches over 3 feet in height, making it a good addition to the back of mixed beds. Create a bold mass planting, add a burst of color to a landscape, or add height to a container with this easy-care perennial. This cultivar is late to emerge in the spring but quickly makes up for lost time by growing relatively fast. Grow the Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily as a perennial in zones 6 through 9.
Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily Care
The Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily prefers rich, moist soil that is well drained. Soggy conditions are problematic, but this plant will fail to thrive in dry conditions. Water before the soil dries out and plant it in part to full sun. Support the tall stems by applying fertilizer for blooming plants during the bloom cycle every other week.
Deadhead the Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily, or remove spent flowers, to keep the plant looking nice if desired. Propagate Peruvian Lilies in the spring by dividing the rhizomes.
Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily Spacing
The Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily will grow 36 to 42 inches tall and spread just as wide. Space plants 36 to 42 inches apart to create a continuous wall of foliage and flowers, or leave more space and give the plant time to fill in. One plant can comfortably grow in a 12-inch container.Golden Tiara Peruvian Lily Information
