Grandma's Blessing Rose, will bless your garden with beautiful roses all summer. In early spring, this rose will produce red flower buds that open into clusters of lovely dusty pink roses. The flowers are 3 inches in diameter, lightly fragrant, and fabulous in bouquets. The floral show will continue all summer long until fall. The dark green, glossy foliage provides the perfect backdrop for the flowers to shine.
This rose bush has an elegant vase shape that reaches 2 - 3 feet high and wide. The foliage is deciduous and will die back in winter. This rose was bred for exceptional disease resistance and will not need to be sprayed for powdery mildew or black spot. This rose makes a pretty low hedge or border for a cut-flower garden. It also grows well in containers to decorate an entryway or patio.
Easy Elegance® Grandma's Blessing Rose Care
These roses perform best in full sun, with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. They prefer soil rich in organic matter, including loam and clay. To keep them healthy, give them plenty of air circulation and good soil drainage. Keep the soil moist during the first growing season to establish a healthy root system. Feed this rose in the spring with a slow-release general purpose fertilizer. Apply a 3-inch layer of compost around the base, making sure to pull back any mulch from the stems.
Grandma’s Blessing grows on its own roots and can be pruned back hard in spring. Cut back all stems to about eight inches above the ground. Make your cuts on the diagonal about one-fourth inch above a bud.
Easy Elegance® Grandma's Blessing Rose Spacing
If planting these roses in drifts, space plants approximately 3 feet apart, center on center, in a staggered fashion. For planting a tight hedge, space rose bushes approximately 2 feet apart so that plants will touch when mature.
