Growing Zones
This perennial aster will perk up your early autumn garden with its dark purple flowers rising above dark green foliage. It will bring new life and color into your fading fall garden. This medium-height plant will thrive in full sun conditions in USDA plant hardiness zones 3 through 8. It has a 40 to 44-inch spread and a height of 30 to 44 inches at maturity.
Grape Crush New England Aster grows in a mounding habit and can be used in the filler role in container gardens. Add this aster to garden borders and island perennial gardens to attract butterflies and bees. It can also be used in front of shrub borders.
Grape Crush New England Aster Care
This no-maintenance plant has average watering requirements. It will bring beauty to your garden for years as long as it is planted in well-draining soil. Deadheading the spent flowers will prevent the plant from producing seeds and spreading.
You can divide these plants every 2 to 3 years to help promote healthier and better looking plants. Fertilizing is not required, but if you choose to, do so in the spring.
Grape Crush New England Aster Spacing
Space individual plants 40 to 44 inches apart to avoid crowding them at maturity.
