Better known as Greenlee's Hybrid Moor Grass, the Sesleria 'Greenlee Hybrid' is an attractive evergreen grass with blue-green foliage. Forming dense mounds, it is easy to care for and tends not to self-seed. With a height of 12 inches, this perennial grass is a versatile ornamental and is perfect for adding some texture and color to your garden.

Tough and hardy, the low-growing Greenlee's Hybrid Moor Grass is suitable for growing in zones 5 through to 9. In late spring or early summer, pale purple flowers develop and later turn into brown seed heads. Drought tolerant once established, this Sesleria is low maintenance and is generally disease- and pest-free. It is perfectly suited to a cottage garden or prairie planting either in a group or on its own.

Greenlee's Hybrid Moor Grass Care

You can grow Greenlee's Hybrid Moor Grass in full sun to partial shade. It requires free-draining and moderately fertile soil. Irrigate for the first year after planting, after which it can cope with dry spells. As it favors a drier substrate, it is best to avoid overwatering. To give this grass a boost, you can apply a slow-release general fertilizer in spring. 

The Greenlee's Hybrid Moor Grass is wonderfully low maintenance. All you need to do is shear back the old foliage and stems in late winter before new growth appears in the spring.
