This native flower is an essential addition to any garden or landscape. With its long green stem complimented at the top by a bright white flower, beauty will never be far away. The contrast that the center of the flower adds to the overall aesthetic gives this perennial a sense of maturity, and old-time charm. This flower will be one that’s cherished every summer by both your own household, and by pollinators everywhere.

The Happy Star Coneflower is an important addition to the garden for the sake of the garden’s ecosystem. The coneflower is native and beloved by native bees and butterflies. Songbirds and hummingbirds are also a popular sighting with this flower in the landscape. Deer resistant, and very fragrant, you simply can’t go wrong planting this perennial flower in the garden. It can be used in borders, along fencing, even in containers. It’s perfect as a cut flower in bouquets rivaling the annual daisy.

Happy Star Coneflower Care

This perennial plant thrives in hardiness zones three through eight, making it very hardy. It can tolerate either full or partial sun. This coneflower prefers moist, well drained soil but also thrives in dry soil as well. This is due to its drought tolerant nature. It does enjoy an average amount of water, so best if possible to water after a long dry stretch is observed.

If you don’t wish for the plant to reseed, flower heads will need to be cut back in the fall. Flowers can be removed to prolong blooming.

Happy Star Coneflower Spacing

The Happy Star Coneflower is tall in nature, growing 36 to 48 inches high. It reseeds easily, so should be spaced 18 to 24 inches apart.
