Growing Zones
The peach-colored blooms of the Holden's Peach Rhododendron are simply exquisite when they burst forth in May. Growing to around 5 feet tall, this evergreen classic shrub develops dark green leathery foliage, which beautifully contrasts against the blooms. A shade-loving specimen, Holden’s Peach is ideal for brightening up gloomy spaces.
The Holden's Peach Rhododendron has been bred to provide great resistance to Phytophthora cinnamomi, increasing its lifespan. It is fully hardy in USDA zones 5 through 8. The dense evergreen foliage stands throughout the year and can provide an excellent backdrop for other plantings. Wonderfully low maintenance, Holden's Peach Rhododendron is perfect for growing as a standalone feature or as a flowering hedge for high impact.
Holden's Peach Rhododendron Care
In order to thrive, the Holden's Peach Rhododendron requires an acidic and free-draining soil and a partially shaded location. Frequent irrigation is needed to provide a consistently moist substrate, especially during the warmer months. Fertilizing with a specific rhododendron feed in spring will help maintain plant health and support flowering.
Minimal pruning is required. Remove any crossing or dead branches immediately after flowering.
Holden's Peach Rhododendron Spacing
When fully grown, the Holden's Peach Rhododendron can reach 4 to 5 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet wide. Space individual plants 4 to 6 feet apart or closer when growing in a group.
