The 3” single flowers are kissed with a deep red center, and chartreuse anthers reach forward from the center to give visiting bees a warm embrace. Honeymoon Romantic Getaway is a dependable evergreen groundcover for shady gardens beneath deciduous trees, or part-shade gardens that enjoy dappled or early sun. Hellebores are low-maintenance, salt-tolerant, and deer & rabbit resistant. They can also withstand some drought.

The Honeymoon Lenten Rose variety is grown for its toughness, vitality, and prolific blooms. Try planting in a moist woodland garden. Honeymoon® Romantic Getaway Lenten Rose Care

Hellebores like Honeymoon Romantic Getaway do best in full- and part-shade gardens. Do not plant under evergreen trees, as the plant requires sunlight in the winter to encourage spring growth. These are adaptable, low-maintenance plants that prefer moist, rich soil, but can also grow in other conditions. Soil pH for hellebores can be anywhere from slightly acidic to slightly alkaline.

Mulch heavily in the fall to encourage seedlings to grow. Seedlings can then be transplanted to other areas of the garden with the surrounding mulch. Trim back old foliage in late winter or early spring.
