The Hyde Hall Clematis is an eye-catching beauty primarily due to the large, creamy white flowers that measure a staggering 5 to 7 inches. This perennial has pointed petals with a gentle ruffle for a lovely appearance. The only thing better than one round of blooms is two, and this stunner delivers. Large, showy flowers bloom from late spring until early summer and then the second round of flowers bloom from late summer until early fall.
This is a large vining plant with bushy growth. Give it space to roam and plant near a trellis, arbor, or structure it can climb. The Hyde Hall Clematis is a wonderful container plant. Featuring this lovely perennial in a container provides flexible placement options so that you can enjoy this plant on a balcony, patio, or any place. The large flowers attract pollinators, but this plant is largely deer-resistant. Grow this Clematis as a perennial in USDA zones 4 through 9.
Hyde Hall Clematis Care
Hyde Hall Clematis loves part shade but can handle full sun. This plant has medium water needs and requires moist, well-draining soil that is slightly alkaline. Clematis responds very well to fertilizer. Apply a low nitrogen fertilizer in the early spring and feed the plant monthly throughout the rest of the growing season using balanced plant food.
The vines and greenery will die back after the first frost. The growth can be removed in the fall or left in place and removed in the spring.
Hyde Hall Clematis Spacing
The Hyde Hall Clematis is a vining plant that will get up to 5 to 6 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. Space Clematis 2 feet apart, center on center, to create a full, consistent wall of blooms and foliage. One plant can be grown in an 8- to 10-inch container.
