Growing Zones
‘Iceberg’ Rose is a welcome sight in any garden. This sought-after floriferous variety continually blooms all-season long. Clear white blooms have between 20-25 petals that appear non-stop throughout summer. This easy-to-care-for floribunda rose was bred to be hardier, more robust, and disease resistant and therefore easier to grow. Iceberg Rose grows in Hardiness Zones 5-8, is cold and heat tolerant, and reaches a height of 4 ft with a spread of about 3 ft.
Its bushy habit works exceptionally well when Iceberg is planted as a continual flowering hedge in the landscape, near a walkway to enjoy its subtle honey fragrance, or as a single focal point in the garden or large container. Its hardiness and disease-resistant traits make this an easy-care plant that puts on a continual flower show.
Iceberg Floribunda Rose Care
Plant Iceberg Rose in a full sun location where it receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Roses thrive in soil well amended in organic matter; you can mix in garden compost to feed your plant until it becomes well established. The ideal soil pH for roses is 6.5; they prefer neutral to slightly acidic soil. Water newly planted roses every few days, and water established roses once a week or as needed in the heat of summer to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Be sure to water around the root zone, and avoid watering foliage.
Prune Iceberg Floribunda rose in very early spring, just when growth is resuming after dormancy. Cut the canes back to about 10 inches to a foot from soil level; this will encourage stronger growth from the base of the plant. Apply an organic fertilizer specifically formulated for roses three times per year: once after an initial spring pruning, then when buds first appear, and finally again in mid-late July. Deadhead spent flowers throughout summer to encourage continual blooming.
Iceberg Floribunda Rose Spacing
If growing Iceberg Floribunda Rose as a hedge, allow for its eventual width of 3 ft so the branches touch but can still receive air circulation. Air and sunlight are important for roses to thrive, so whether planted in a container, in a mixed border, or in groups, be sure all sides of the plant receive sunlight and air for well-balanced growth.
