Inca Aurelia® Peruvian Lily (Alstroemeria hybrid) offers bright yellow blossoms speckled with tiny brown accents near the throat, adding cheerful color to any outdoor space. Each petal may show faint coral or pink tones, complementing the sunny yellow base. This compact perennial grows 8-12 inches tall and 14-16 inches wide, making it a great fit for both small gardens and container arrangements. Its long bloom window from early summer to late summer brings ongoing enjoyment.
Aside from the eye-catching flowers, Inca Aurelia® Peruvian Lily produces upright, lance-shaped leaves that offer appealing green foliage. It remains moderately low-growing, which makes it perfect for mass plantings, mixed borders, or container displays. Deer typically avoid this plant, which ensures your lilies stay unbothered throughout the growing season. Native to South America, these Peruvian Lilies have adapted well to sunny, well-drained conditions. Use them for dramatic effect in small clusters, along borders, or as a lively statement in patio planters.
Inca Aurelia® Peruvian Lily Care
Plant Inca Aurelia® in full sun to partial shade, depending on your climate, and choose a location with soil that drains well. Regular moisture supports healthy bloom production, though overly soggy soil can lead to root problems. A balanced, slow-release fertilizer or light compost topdressing in spring helps fuel ongoing growth and flower power. This perennial does best in hardiness zones 7 through 10, so consider overwintering plants indoors in cooler regions. Cutting fresh blooms for arrangements promotes further flowering, letting you enjoy these radiant lilies both indoors and out.
No intricate pruning is needed other than removing faded blooms and stems once they've faded. Snip these stems at the base to keep your plant looking neat. You can also trim away any damaged or yellow leaves to maintain a tidy appearance. In mild climates, plants may stay semi-evergreen, so gentle tidying at season’s end is usually sufficient.
Inca Aurelia® Peruvian Lily Spacing
Space each plant 14 to 16 inches apart if you’re creating a border or grouping in the landscape, providing ample room for their lush foliage and future growth. When potting a single plant for a decorative container, aim for a container at least 12 inches in diameter, allowing enough space for roots to spread and thrive.
