The Inca Lolly Peruvian Lily is a beautiful plant that boasts striking flowers and lush foliage. Vibrant red blooms feature dark burgundy flecks that provide contrast against the dark green foliage. Several flowers grow on each of the tall and sturdy stems. This easy-care plant blooms during the spring, summer, and fall so you can enjoy consistent beauty.
Plant this stunner in beds, borders, mass plantings, or containers. This plant is a dwarf variety, growing to about a foot in height. This small stature makes it a wonderful plant to feature near the front of a bed or as a filler in a container. The blooms hold up nicely, so this plant is wonderful for cut flowers. Alstroemeria hails from South America and grows as a perennial in USDA zones 7 through 10. The Inca Lolly Peruvian Lily is grown as an annual in colder regions.
Inca Lolly™ Peruvian Lily Care
Alstroemeria prefers sunny conditions and requires at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight. Plenty of light will ensure this stunner continues to push out beautiful blooms. This plant has moderate water needs, so give it a drink when the top layer of the soil is dry. Soil should be well-draining and have a 5.5 to 6.5 pH.
Regular feeding keeps the flowers coming, so use a water-soluble fertilizer with increased nitrogen. The fertilizer ratio should be 12-4-8 or 10-5-5. Feed the plant every two weeks during the growing season. Trim away dead growth as needed and deadhead the plant to maintain the compact growth habit. Divide the plant in the spring to expand your collection and enjoy more beautiful Alstroemeria.
Inca Lolly™ Peruvian Lily Spacing
The Inca Lolly Peruvian Lily is a dwarf variety that will reach 8 to 12 inches tall. This plant will spread out over 14 to 16 inches. Keep the plants close together or about 16 inches apart for a lush mass planting. Give them more space to allow the plants room to grow. One plant can easily fill a 12-inch container.
