Jewel of Desert® Rose Quartz Hardy Ice Plant features fleshy green leaves covered in showy, bright pink-lilac flowers from spring through fall. Excellent in water-wise gardens, Delosperma ‘Jewel of Desert Rosequartz’ as it is botanically known, is a prolific bloomer and attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and other friendly pollinators while being deer resistant. Its compact habit, and heat and drought tolerance make it ideal for dry sunny garden areas.
Use Jewel of Desert® Rose Quartz Hardy Ice Plant as a groundcover, as an edging plant, or mass planting in rock gardens. Hardy in zones 5-10, this ground-hugging perennial has a mature height of only 4-6 inches with a spread of 12 inches. It produces a lush, mat-like carpet of colorful foliage and flowers all season long.
Jewel of Desert® Rose Quartz Hardy Ice Plant Care
Jewel of Desert® Rose Quartz Hardy Ice Plant is best when planted in a full sun location, receiving 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily, in well-draining soil. Ice Plant will not tolerate soggy soil conditions, so be sure to test the soil structure before planting. It thrives in hot and dry conditions.
Keep the plant looking tidy with occasional deadheading throughout the growing season to allow for continual blooming. Its salt, heat, and drought tolerance helps it adapt to less-than-ideal soil conditions once the plant is fully established.

Space Jewel of the Desert® Rose Quartz 10 inches apart to allow for full mature growth; if a thick ground cover effect is desired, space plants slightly closer than 10 inches.
