Jubilation Gardenia, Gardenia jasminoides ‘Leone’, is a compact, moderate to fast-growing evergreen shrub known for its intensely fragrant white flowers that bloom from late spring through fall. The fragrant blossoms are perfect for cutting and displaying indoors. With its dense, glossy green foliage, Jubilation Gardenia is ideal for containers, as a specimen plant, in informal hedges, or as part of a shrub border, providing both beauty and scent throughout the growing season.
Gardenia ‘Jubilation’ Care
Plant Jubilation Gardenia in well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Water regularly to establish, then weekly or more during periods of extreme heat or drought. Pruning is not generally necessary but can be done after the first flush of blooms in spring to shape the shrub. Fertilize in early spring with an acid-forming fertilizer to encourage healthy growth and abundant flowering.
Gardenia ‘Jubilation’ Spacing
For informal hedges, space plants 3 feet apart, measured from the center of each shrub. For mass plantings or shrub borders, allow 5 to 6 feet between plants for proper growth and airflow.
