It can be hard to take your eyes off the Judy Judy Daylily. Bold lavender flowers have a golden yellow throat. The petals have yellow edging and a tight ruffle. The large flowers introduce color and texture into a landscape and bloom on top of tall stems. The Judy Judy Daylily blooms from mid to late summer.
Daylilies are easy to maintain and can be used in beds, borders, mass plantings, and containers. Trim the flowers to use in arrangements. The bold blooms attract butterflies and hummingbirds. The flowers are offset by green, strap-like foliage. Grow this plant as a perennial in zones 3 through 9.
Judy Judy Daylily Care
This cultivar does well in full to partial sunlight, but expect more vibrant blooms in increased light levels. This plant prefers average soil that is moist and well drained. Daylilies are not heavy feeders, and a layer of organic mulch is enough to support new growth.
The flowers fade, and the greenery will die back in the fall. Remove the dead growth in the fall or early spring.
Judy Judy Daylily Spacing
The Judy Judy Daylily has an upright, mounded growth habit and reaches 24 to 28 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. Plants can be spaced 18 to 24 inches apart when used in a mass planting.
