Phlox is a hardy plant that is well-loved by many gardeners for its saturated color and easy-care sensibilities. The rounded purple petals of the Ka-Pow® Purple Garden Phlox are just barely overlapped and deliver a showy pop of color. The Phlox paniculata is a summertime bloomer that also boasts green, elliptical foliage with rounded ends.

Well-branched stems and an upright, mounded growth habit give this looker a full and dense appearance. Plant in beds or borders where this perennial will add intense color. Ka-Pow® Purple Garden Phlox Care

Phlox thrives in full sun and fertile soil that is moist and well-drained. New plants need consistent water for the first growing season. Older plants need water once per week or when the top few inches of soil are dry. Keep the foliage dry and water the soil around the plant to reduce the risk of fungus. 

Consistent fertilization each spring using balanced plant food will keep this stunner happy and healthy. Phlox are prone to becoming leggy, so trim back growth in late spring or early summer to keep the plant contained and bushy. Remove spent flowers to encourage more blooms. Propagate this clump-forming plant via division every few years.
