The long-blooming Kismet™ Raspberry Coneflower or Echinacea is an easy-care stunner. Large 4-inch flowers are a bold pink and brighten up a landscape during the summer and fall. The long, thin petals surround a large brown cone. The flowers are supported by study stems that have medium-green foliage near the base of the plant.
Butterflies and other pollinators enjoy the Kismet™ Raspberry Coneflower, but deer, rabbits, and foraging animals leave it alone. The seed cones support small birds during the fall and winter. The Kismet™ Raspberry Coneflower will be a highlight in a bed, border, or mass planting. Feature this Echinacea in a container to enjoy this plant on a deck or porch. Cut the flowers to use in fresh or dried arrangements. Grow this beauty as a perennial in USDA zones 4 through 8.
Kismet™ Raspberry Coneflower Care
Echinacea thrives in full sun and in medium-moisture soil that is well drained. This plant has low water needs and will develop drought tolerance over time; however, be sure to give it a drink during a dry spell to help it look its best. Fertilize this plant once during the spring using balanced plant food.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms during the summer. The Kismet™ Raspberry Coneflower can be propagated through division during the spring or fall as it outgrows its space.
Kismet™ Raspberry Coneflower Spacing
At 16 to 18 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, the Kismet™ Raspberry Coneflower is a medium-sized plant. Its mounded, upright growth habit creates a full and dense look. Space plants 24 inches apart.
