- Use As A Thriller In Containers
Enjoy colorful blooms all summer long when you plant the Kudos™ Ambrosia Hummingbird Mint. Also known as Agastache 'Kudos Ambrosia’, this plant features trumpet-shaped flowers that grow on tall stems. The blooms shift in color from pink to orange and cream for a kaleidoscope of color. The flowers have a honey-mint scent and bloom from June to September.
Kudos™ Ambrosia Hummingbird Mint is a beautiful plant to include in a bed, border, or mass planting. This plant also lives very comfortably in containers, and the tall stems make excellent cut flowers. The bottom portion of the stems has medium-green foliage with gently scalloped edges. These plants are deer resistant and drought tolerant, making them easy to maintain. Hummingbirds enjoy the blooms and will be frequent visitors.
Kudos™ Ambrosia Hummingbird Mint Care
Plant this perennial in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. The Kudos™ Ambrosia Hummingbird Mint has average water needs and does not tolerate waterlogged soil, especially in the colder winter months. It grows well in containers, although pots will need to be watered more often than plants in the ground. Feed established plants using a balanced fertilizer annually in the spring.
Deadhead the plant to encourage more blooms. Divide the Kudos™ Ambrosia Hummingbird Mint as needed during the spring.
Kudos™ Ambrosia Hummingbird Mint Spacing
The Kudos™ Ambrosia Hummingbird Mint has an upright, mounded growth habit and will grow 17 to 20 inches tall and 12 to 16 inches wide. Space plants 12 to 16 inches apart when creating a full planting.
