The beautiful and dainty pink-lavender blooms of the Lavender Jewel Rose make it one of the best miniature roses available. Bred by Ralph Moore, Rosa 'Lavender Jewel' as it is also known develops small clusters of lightly fragrant flowers on a small framework of semi-glossy foliage. This shrub remains compact with a mature height of around 18 inches.

As a repeater bloomer, the Lavender Jewel Rose will continue to produce small, yet intricate flowers from early summer until the fall. Being a miniature rose, Lavender Jewel looks perfect when grown on its own in a container or pot. However, it can be equally effective when used to line a pathway or border. This shrub is winter hardy down to USDA zone 4.

Lavender Jewel Rose Care

The Lavender Jewel Rose thrives when it is grown in full sun and in fertile, moist, yet well-drained soil. Frequent irrigation is needed to help this rose establish and from then on to keep the soil on the moist side. Feeding with a rose-specific fertilizer in spring will help maintain plant health and encourage reblooming until the fall.

Prune lightly and remove any damaged or diseased wood in early spring before new growth appears. Deadhead continually throughout the growing season to promote new flower buds. If grown in a container, more regular watering will be required to prevent the soil from drying out than if grown in the ground.

Lavender Jewel Rose Spacing

Over time the Lavender Jewel Rose can reach 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide. A plant spacing of 12 to 15 inches will allow multiple specimens to form a block of color.
