This repeat bloomer continues to put on a lovely floral display from spring through the first frost, so you’ll have plenty of time to admire the striking blooms. The buds emerge in a vibrant yellow hue that gradually lightens. When the flowers open, they are a buttery yellow and eventually transition to a pale yellow. The flowers are offset by small, dark green foliage with serrated edges.
This plant has a bushy form with a low, spreading growth habit. Feature Lemon Drift® Rose in a bed or border or create a lovely ground cover. This rose does very well in containers, allowing it to live on patios or balconies. The Lemon Drift® Rose is disease resistant, making it a good choice for gardeners reluctant to take on roses.
Lemon Drift® Rose Care
Lemon Drift® Roses need full sun and acidic soil with a 6.0 - 6.5 pH. The soil should also be rich and well drained. This plant has medium water needs. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the root zone to retain moisture and slowly enrich the soil. Feed your rose bush using a slow-release fertilizer during the spring and again in late summer.
Drift® Rose plants maintain a good shape and generally do not need a lot of pruning, but you can shape as needed in early spring. Cutting back the growth will encourage more branching and a full, dense look.
Lemon Drift® Rose Spacing
The Lemon Drift® Rose has a compact form and will grow 1 to 2 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. While this cultivar is disease resistant, give the plants space so air can flow around the foliage. Space plants 3 feet apart for best results.
