Li'l Bang™ Goldilocks Tickseed, or Coreopsis Li’l Bang Goldilocks, are easy-to-grow members of the sunflower family that yield a ‘Li'l Bang™’ of bright yellow flowers with unique, ruffled petal-tips. It has airy, vivid, green foliage held aloft by compact branched stems. With a mature height of 8 to 12 inches, this long-blooming coreopsis is perfect for keeping your garden golden all season long. The flowers are sterile, which means they will stay in bloom from early summer all the way to the first frost.

It is excellent for attracting butterflies and bees, and since it blooms all season, it is an excellent late-source of nectar. Coreopsis is a low-maintenance, reliable plant that will come back year after year with minimal effort. It is deer and critter resistant and spreads to about 12 inches. They are a favorite of florists, and make excellent cut-flowers and will last a long time without wilting.

Li'l Bang™ Goldilocks Tickseed Care

Goldilocks Tickseed is relatively drought tolerant, but requires average watering. For best performance, you can fertilize your Goldilocks Coreopsis with liquid plant feed that has low levels of nitrogen. It needs slightly moist, well-drained soil to thrive. An ideal pH for your tickseed is 6.0 to 7.0, or mildly acidic. In pots or containers, use peat-free potting compost. Your tickseed will survive in partial sun, but thrives in areas with full sun.

Be sure to provide your coreopsis with support, especially if you are planting them in windy areas. Li'l Bang™ Goldilocks blooms should be dead-headed to encourage more flowers, especially in late summer months. Goldilocks Tickseed is vulnerable to aphids, thrips, and powdery mildew. It is important to watch for signs of pests and mildew by checking your plants regularly.

Li'l Bang™ Goldilocks Tickseed Spacing

When planting, your Goldilocks Tickseed should be spaced 12 to 18 inches apart. This coreopsis is perfectly paired with thicker foliage plants, along borders, and in landscaping beds. It is especially beautiful in containers and pots with phlox or daisies.
