The Li'l Lavender™ Butterfly Bush or Buddleia davidii Butterfly Candy™ 'Lil Lavender'™ is a prolific bloomer that thrives with minimal care. Tiny purple flowers have notched petals and an orange eye. The dainty flowers grow in a cone and start to bloom at the base of the cone and open in ascending order. This shrub continues to bloom all summer long. The flowers are offset by silver-green foliage.
The full form and abundant flowers of the Li'l Lavender™ Butterfly Bush make this plant an excellent addition to a bed or border. Group several together for a stunning mass planting. Li'l Lavender™ Butterfly Bush Care
Full sun or at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight is necessary for this butterfly bush to grow and thrive. Young plants need consistent moisture, while established shrubs only need water during a dry period. Plant in fertile and well-drained soil. Fertilize with a balanced plant food to promote continued blooms.
Remove spent flowers or deadhead the plant to encourage more blooms. Shape the plant in early spring to encourage a rounded form and promote branching.
