As the flower spikes of Magic Show Enchanted Indigo Spike Speedwell (Veronica hybrid) rise above the deep green leaves, you will be treated to a color explosion. The tubular flower wands are light green, with deep bluish-purple flowers that open in succession from bottom to top. This plant should be featured at the front of any garden bed, container or border.
Bees and butterflies love Magic Show Enchanted Indigo Spike Speedwell flowers and deer resist Veronica. At about 18 inches high when flowering, this speedwell is an eye-catching groundcover, container filler or border plant. It's also salt tolerant, which makes it safe to plant near winter sidewalks and driveways. Magic Show Speedwell varieties grow in zones 4 through 8.

Magic Show Enchanted Indigo Spike Speedwell can grow in full sun or part sun and will flower best with more than six hours of sun a day. It grows best in moist and fertile soil that drains well. Shear off faded flower wands after they fade to encourage a second bloom. Speedwell needs regular watering. Adding a balanced, all-purpose fertilizer in spring helps encourage blooming if soil is not rich.
