Honestly, this perennial could even stand out on its own as a colorful addition. Beginning with deep green foliage, tall and bright purple flowers emerge in the late spring. The best part about this perennial shrub: it won’t stop blooming until the Fall.

This perennial sage is a solid addition to the landscape for more than just aesthetic reasons. In fact, it’s compact and dense in nature meaning it could be added almost anywhere within your landscape including containers, borders, it can be used for ground cover, the list goes on. Perhaps most importantly of all…this perennial flower blooms abundantly and attracts birds, bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies.

Marcus Meadow Sage Care

This perennial plant thrives in hardiness zones four through eight. It is considered drought tolerant once it’s been established. The Marcus Meadow Sage prefers well drained soil in full sun. It should be watered supplementally if a dry period is observed, but overall is considered a low maintenance perennial.

Removing spent flowers will prolong blooming. Deadheading can also help the plant to produce more adjacent buds on the shrub.

This specialty perennial sage can grow anywhere from eight to 12 inches tall. It should be spaced 10 to 12 inches apart due to its mounding growth nature.
