For late-season color, the Marina Stonecrop Sedum gives a stunning display. From August onward, the Sedum telephium 'Marina' produces a dazzling array of pink star-shaped flowers that last well into the fall. Though mainly grown for its pollinator friendly flower, this stonecrop develops attractive green-blue foliage in early summer. As a low-maintenance perennial, this stonecrop is embarrassingly easy to grow.

Being both deer and rabbit resistant, the Marina Stonecrop Sedum remains relatively pest-free. It is drought tolerant and once established needs little care. Growing to around one foot tall, this perennial is ideal for placing at the front of a border, growing in a rock garden, or planting in a container. It is loved by bees and butterflies and is perfect for attracting wildlife into the garden. This succulent is suitable for growing in zones 4 to 8.

Marina Stonecrop Sedum Care

As a heat- and sun-loving plant, this stonecrop thrives when it is grown in full sun; a south-facing spot is usually perfect. It requires well-drained soil and tends to flop if given too much moisture. Stonecrops do not usually require any extra fertilization. Although this plant is drought tolerant when established, new plantings should be watered regularly for the first season at least.

Being low maintenance, all that is necessary is for the old stems to be cut down to the base of the plant in spring. However, be careful not to damage the new growth that could be poking through the soil. Even though this plant can tolerate some light shade, it will flower better in full sun.

Marina Stonecrop Sedum Spacing

When fully grown, the Marina Stonecrop Sedum can reach 12 inches tall by 18-24 inches wide. Best planted out in groups, space individual plants 24 inches apart.
