Marto™ Hot Rose Rockfoil (Saxifraga x arendsii ‘FLORSAXHRO’) delivers an impressive wave of bright pink blooms with yellow centers from early spring through early summer. Rising just 4 to 6 inches above the ground, this petite perennial forms a neat mound of light green foliage. Its cheerful flowers top slender stems, making a colorful impact in rock gardens, borders, or container accents. We love that this low-growing plant offers refreshing color during that much-anticipated transition from winter to spring.

The compact habit and frost tolerance allow Marto™ Hot Rose Rockfoil to handle light spring chills. Its drought tolerance, plus deer and rabbit resistance, further enhance its easy-care appeal. With partial to full sun, it thrives in cooler regions and looks charming when tucked into small planting pockets or between stones. Enjoy it in rock walls, at garden edges, or anywhere a burst of springtime color is welcome.

Marto™ Hot Rose Rockfoil Care

Plant in a location that provides at least four hours of direct sunlight, although afternoon shade can be beneficial in warmer climates. Use porous, well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH, watering moderately to keep the roots from drying out. Weekly irrigation usually suffices, though you may need to adjust based on rainfall and temperature. Light fertilization in early spring supports strong new growth.

Minimal pruning is required, as this perennial forms a tidy mound. If foliage becomes ragged, gently trim away damaged or brown leaves to maintain a neat appearance. Container-grown plants benefit from a good-quality potting mix and regular checks to prevent excessive dryness. In areas with harsh winters, consider mulching lightly around the base to help insulate the root zone.

Marto™ Hot Rose Rockfoil Spacing

Place each plant about 7 to 9 inches apart when forming a short border or mass planting. If growing in containers, opt for a pot at least 8 inches wide so the root system has adequate room.
