The Million Dollar Blush Hybrid Bee Delphinium steals the show with rose-pink spikes of semi-double and double flowers. These huge flower spikes are held aloft by the deeply dissected foliage by strong stems. White central bees add visual interest and layered beauty to the impressive blooms. Butterflies and hummingbirds love to visit these sumptuous flowers, while deer and rabbits leave it alone.
Longer-lived than other delphinium varieties, Million Dollar Blush Hybrid will stun year after year in Zones 3-7. Most delphiniums prefer the cool climates of the North, but this variety proves to be very heat tolerant. It is a great addition to cottage gardens, wildflower gardens and structured landscapes as a focal point or specimen plant.
Million Dollar Blush Larkspur Care
This hybrid bee delphinium does best when planted in a location with at least four hours of sunlight per day. Soil should be neutral to alkaline in pH, and have average to high fertility. Add lime if you have acidic soil. While the stems of this Million Dollar variety are quite strong, they may require staking as they approach full bloom, especially in windy or inclement weather. Regular compost and fertilization applications will keep growth and bloom vigorous.
Plant the crown slightly above soil level to avoid rot, and opt for sunnier locations to avoid powdery mildew. Prune back in the early spring to allow for new growth.
Million Dollar Blush Larkspur Spacing
This is a smaller delphinium variety that is perfect for narrow garden beds or spaces. Plant 18-24” from other plants.
