The Camellia sasanqua 'Mine No Yuki' may have you looking forward to fall and winter because that is when this stunner blooms. This tree-like shrub is covered in pillowy, semi-double blooms with ruffled white petals from fall through early winter. Each flower is a staggering 3 to 4 inches wide and makes a striking statement against the dark green, leathery foliage. The Mine No Yuki Camellia is the best of everything because not only does this plant have showy flowers, but it is also low maintenance.

Use this versatile plant as a hedge, mass planting, or accent. This variety can also live in a container, allowing flexible placement options. This shade-and drought-tolerant Camellia is an evergreen known to attract birds and butterflies. It is naturally compact and grows as a perennial in USDA zones 7 through 9.

Mine No Yuki Camellia Plant Care

Camellia plants prefer slightly acidic soil with good drainage. Plant in an area with partial sunlight because this plant can only handle 2 to 3 hours of direct light each day. The Mine No Yuki Camellia will flourish with partial light all day. Water when the top couple of inches of soil is dry to the touch. Cut back slightly on the water during winter.

Feed the Camellia sasanqua 'Mine No Yuki' during the spring using an acidic fertilizer. Prune the plant in the spring to cut back damaged parts or overgrowth.

Mine No Yuki Camellia Plant Spacing

This plant is relatively large and should be 5 to 8 feet tall and wide once established. Plants can be spaced as close as 3 feet if you intend to create a hedge-like appearance. Space plants further apart if that better suits your area or the desired look.
