The gorgeous summertime flowers of the Minerva Rose of Sharon will make this shrub a standout in any landscape. Large flowers are 4 inches wide for a lovely and eye-catching impact. The flowers are dark pinkish-lavender near the edges of the petals and fade to light pink closer to the base before suddenly changing to a dark magenta eye. The petals have a slight ruffle and are open to reveal a yellow stamen. The beautiful flowers are on display from mid-July until early September. The lobed foliage of the Hibiscus syriacus is dark green and has a leathery texture.

This Rose of Sharon has an upright growth habit and is not as large as other cultivars; however, this shrub still makes a wonderful hedge or privacy screen. The flowers are a natural focal point, so plant this shrub in a visible area to admire the blooms. This lovely deciduous Minerva Rose of Sharon grows as a perennial in USDA zones 5 through 8.

Minerva Rose of Sharon Care

Rose of Sharon needs full to partial sun. Soil should be moist and well-draining. Water weekly during normal summer weather, but water more often during a dry spell.

Minerva Rose of Sharon Spacing
