The deep green foliage of this deciduous shrub is paired with fuchsia blooms that arrive and last all summer long. This butterfly bush is resistant to deer and attracts butterflies, birds, and hummingbirds. The Miss Ruby Butterfly Bush reaches a garden height of forty-eight to sixty inches and has a spread of also forty-eight to sixty inches. Plant as a border plant, a focal, or use for mass planting.
Miss Ruby Butterfly Bush Care
Care for the Miss Ruby Butterfly Bush is simple. It requires to be planted in full sun, at least six hours of sun per day. Soil needs to be well drained. It is tolerant of all soil types and varying Ph levels. Water needs are average, once established it is drought tolerant. When pruning, wait till new growth appears in the spring, no fall pruning. Mulching in the winter can be beneficial. Apply a slow release fertilizer in the spring.
