My Monet Purple Effect Weigela produces late spring flowers on stems with variegated foliage. The plant holds its own as a pretty border or container plant. The weigela forms into a mounded shape of about 18 to 30 inches tall and wide. With its dazzling foliage and short height, this small weigela is a stunning groundcover or low border for a sidewalk or flower bed. My Monet is deer resistant, too.
