My Monet Purple Effect Weigela adds a pretty deep pink flower to variegated leaves of white, green and purple. The short shrub can add unique color and interest to any container, garden border or garden bed. It's a versatile plant for most any area of your landscape, tolerating more shade than most weigelas.
My Monet Purple Effect Weigela produces late spring flowers on stems with variegated foliage. The plant holds its own as a pretty border or container plant. The weigela forms into a mounded shape of about 18 to 30 inches tall and wide. With its dazzling foliage and short height, this small weigela is a stunning groundcover or low border for a sidewalk or flower bed. My Monet is deer resistant, too.

My Monet grows well in zones 4 through 6. If you live at the hot end of these zones, give your My Monet Purple Effect Weigela a little extra shade. It does best with about 4 to 6 hours of sun per day. My Monet has average water requirements, but can use a little extra water in its first year of growth. The tidy shrub seldom needs pruning, but if you want to shape it, do so after the flowers are done blooming.
