With its strong citrusy scent and unique lavender and mauve blooms, the Nicole Carol Miller™ Grandiflora Rose (Rosa ‘Nicole Carol Miller’) is truly a show stopper both as a rose bush and cut flower. This rose will bloom repeatedly through the summer and into the fall, attracting pollinators and enhancing your garden with its heavenly scent. Flowers in true mauve shades are uncommon, making this rose a treasured addition to any garden. Named in honor of a victim of the 9/11, the Nicole Carol Miller™ is a must-have for newby gardeners and rosarians alike.
At 5-6 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide, the Nicole Carol Miller™ can shine in a garden on its own or en masse as a spectacular hedge. This rose is very disease resistant, only adding to its appeal. The Nicole Carol Miller will need water regularly in its first year, becoming more drought tolerant like other roses as it matures. Blooming on new growth, this rose requires minimal pruning early in the season.
Nicole Carol Miller™ Grandiflora Rose Care
The Nicole Carol Miller™ Rose grows best in well-draining, neutral to slightly acidic soil. To plant, dig a hole about the same size as the root ball. Choose a spot where it can get full sun, at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. For best blooms, fertilize the Nicole Carol Miller™ with a rose-specific, high phosphorus, slow-release fertilizer in the spring and summer.
This Grandiflora rose blooms on new growth. Prune the plant to shape in late winter or early spring before new growth has started. Damaged or diseased portions of the plant can be removed at any point in the year. To encourage additional blooms, spent blooms can be removed regularly through the blooming season.
Nicole Carol Miller™ Grandiflora Rose Spacing
Plant the Nicole Carol Miller™ Grandiflora Rose about 3 feet from other plants to allow it plenty of room to grow. To create a hedge or mass planting, plants can be placed slightly closer together. Because of the size of this rose bush, containers are not generally recommended for more than one growing season.
