Growing Zones
The Night Light Hinoki Cypress has colorful yellowish-green foliage that will stand out from typical evergreen plants. The outermost portion of the foliage turns bronze while the inner portion remains green during the winter months. This shrub tolerates sunny conditions without experiencing leaf scorch during the summer months or winter cold burn during the colder months.
It can be used as an accent plant, in mixed or shrub border gardens, as a container plant, to create a low hedge or in mass plantings.
Night Light Chamaecyparis Care
This evergreen grows in a dense, rounded form with a height and width of 4 to 5 feet in USDA hardiness zones 5 to 8. Plant the low maintenance Night Light Chamaecyparis in full sun to partial shade conditions in well-drained soil. Avoid planting in slow-draining soils to prevent root rot. Fertilize annually if desired.
Night Light Chamaecyparis Spacing
Plant Night Light Chamaecyparis 3 feet apart to create a solid hedge or 5 or more feet apart to leave open space between mature specimens.
