  • Humectants, Surfactant, Seaweed Extract, & Humic Acid
  • Supports Root Development
  • 1 Gallon Concentrate

NutriRoot 2-2-3 Soil Amendment is a soil-applied liquid designed to help roots grow and take up moisture, especially during summer dry spells, and in sandy or hydrophobic soils. Along with a light NPK feed (2-2-3), it adds iron, manganese, and zinc plus seaweed extract and humic acid to support root-zone activity. It also includes humectants and a non-ionic surfactant that help soil take in water more evenly and hold onto it longer near the roots. We highly recommend using this amendment to improve transplant success.

NutriRoot can be used as a season-long program. Use it at planting as a drench, apply monthly during hot, dry stretches to reduce water stress, and add a fall application in colder regions before soil temps drop too low. It’s also useful for mature landscapes when you’re trying to improve infiltration around compacted zones or address drought stress without overfeeding.

Product Specs

  • Analysis: 2-2-3 plus Fe 0.75%, Mn 0.5%, Zn 0.25%
  • Amendments: 22% humectants, 4% non-ionic surfactant, 4% seaweed extract, 2% humic acid
  • Size: 1 gallon
  • Coverage note: 1 gallon treats about 80 trees for transplanting/new plantings

Product Tips

  • Water plants thoroughly if treating during dry conditions so the product can move into the root zone.
  • Use the higher dilution rate for new transplants or trees with root loss, and the lower rate for routine maintenance.
  • Apply to the soil, not foliage; this product is designed to work in the root zone.
  • Avoid applying during temperature extremes (below 40°F or above 90°F), and don’t apply within two weeks of other spray/soil chemical treatments.
  • Rinse application equipment well after use with warm soapy water.

FAQs

What’s in NutriRoot 2-2-3?

It combines macronutrients (2-2-3) with micronutrients (iron, manganese, zinc), plus humectants, a non-ionic surfactant, seaweed extract, and humic acid to support roots and improve water handling in soil.

How to use NutriRoot 2-2-3 for transplanting?

Drench the planting area before and after transplanting so the product reaches the root zone. Apply as a soil drench around the base of the plant or to the root ball area, then water in well.

What is the basic dilution rate?

A common dilution is 1.25–1.5 fl oz per gallon of water (or 1 gallon per 70–100 gallons of water), with higher rates typically used for newly transplanted trees or plants with root loss.

When should I apply it during the year?

Apply at transplant, in early spring before bud break, monthly through the growing season as needed (especially in hot, dry months), and in fall after leaf drop. For winter stress support, treat before ground temperatures drop below 40°F.

What guarantee comes with it?

It’s covered under A.M. Leonard’s 30-Day Down to Earth Guarantee.
