Growing Zones
The Orange Tempo™ Geum offers a bright burst of color and an extended bloom period. Orange and cream trumpet-shaped flowers bloom on top of thin stems during the spring and early summer. The flowers hover over a mass of broad, deep green, ruffled foliage. This easy-care perennial has a lush appearance.
Geum is a mounded, clump-forming plant ideal for use in beds, borders, mass plantings, and containers. The orange blooms and abundant greenery look stunning when used as part of a mixed bed. This plant is deer-resistant, but pollinators are drawn to the blooms. The Orange Tempo™ Geum grows as a perennial in USDA zones 5 through 9.
Orange Tempo™ Geum Care
This beauty needs full sun to partial shade and rich, moist soil that is well-drained. Give this perennial a drink weekly or when the soil dries out. Avoid fertilizing this plant during the first growing season but starting in the second year, apply a balanced fertilizer annually each spring.
Deadhead the plant to keep it looking neat and promote more flowers. Cut back all of the growth in the fall to prepare the plant to overwinter.
Orange Tempo™ Geum Spacing
Orange Tempo™ Geum is a mounded, upright plant that will reach 9 to 15 inches high and 13 to 18 inches wide. Space plants 18 inches apart or feature one Geum in an 8- to 10-inch container.
