Symbolizing friendship and joy, Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose produces lush, high-centered, double roses that fade from rich golden yellow to pale lemon from spring until fall. This dependable hybrid shrub, otherwise known as Rosa 'Oregold', ‘Anneliese Rothenberger’, ‘Miss Harp', and 'Silhouette', features lustrous long-stemmed emerald green foliage that complement its golden bundles of joy. Ideal for cut flowers, this perennial is a source of pleasure whether outside in a garden or inside with its blooms beheld by a cobalt blue vase.
Upholding florets of 16 to 25 petals that yield a fruity perfume, Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose attracts ravenous neighborhood pollinators including bees. Delighting deer as well, ensure that this lovely shrub is well protected by fencing or caging from nightly invaders seeking their next midnight snack. You can also surround it with deer-resistant plants such as foxglove and lavender. Growing upright and vigorously, this flowering perennial reaches a maximum height of 3 to 4 feet and spread of 2 to 3 feet.
Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose Care
To encourage bigger and better blooms and prevent disease, plant Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose in a spot that gets four to six hours of early morning sun. The surrounding soil should be rich, acidic, and well drained. Aim for a pH of 6.1 to 7.8. To increase the organic component and acidity, amend the soil with peat moss/coco coir/perlite. Plant this hybrid rose in a hole that is twice as wide as its root ball and almost as deep as its height. To prevent water loss, apply 2 to 4 inches of mulch around the plant’s base. Provide Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose 1 to 2 inches of water weekly, and do a moisture check prior to watering. If the top 2 to 3 inches are dry, then water. If not, wait a day or two to check again. Conducting moisture checks helps avert disease such as root rot. Feed this beautiful shrub once a month with a balanced fertilizer from May to July.
Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose requires average maintenance. Prune this lovely shrub lightly during the early spring. Trim any diseased, dead, and/or damaged canes. To encourage growth and inspire better flower production, cut back otherwise healthy canes by about a third.
Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose Spacing
Space Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose 2 feet apart when grown in a hedge/group and 3 to 5 feet when grown individually. Select a starter pot with a diameter of 20 inches. Good companion plants are geranium, foxglove, and lavender.
