Organic Holly-Tone for Evergreen & Azalea Plant Food, 4-3-4 Fertilizer is the “right food” for plants that prefer acidic soil and steady nutrition. It’s a 100% natural blend with a gentle, slow-release profile that won’t burn when used as directed, and it includes magnesium and sulfur to support deep green foliage and overall performance. The food includes Bio-Tone beneficial microbes to help new plantings settle in and to keep established shrubs growing with less stress. We always apply Holly-Tone around azaleas and rhododendrons in spring because it feeds without forcing a surge of soft growth.

This 8-pound bag covers about 80 to 160 square feet, depending on application rate, so it’s easy to size for a bed or a few shrubs. Holly-Tone is made for acid-lovers like hollies, blueberries, camellias, hydrangeas, evergreens, and berry crops, and it works just as well in in-ground beds as it does in containers when you follow the label rates. Because it breaks down gradually, it sticks around longer in the root zone instead of washing through quickly.

Product Tips

  • Feed established plants twice a year: spring and fall, using half the rate in fall.
  • Water after applying to move nutrients into the upper soil where feeder roots live.
  • For mulched beds, pull mulch back to apply, then replace it, or increase rates per label guidance.
  • For azaleas and rhododendrons, avoid cultivating close to the plant since roots are shallow.
  • Keep the bag dry for best shelf life; contents store about 2 years when kept dry.
