This magnificent rose is covered with numerous clusters of single 5 petaled, candy apple red blossoms from summer until frost. This plant is low maintenance and no deadheading is required for continuous blooms. It will create a bright spot in your garden.
This polyantha hybrid rose grows in a dense, mounding habit and reaches 3 to 4 feet in height and width. Polyantha roses produce large clusters of small 1-inch diameter blooms. Plant this species in a sunny location in USDA hardiness zones 4 to 9. Oso Happy Candy Oh! Rose is a great choice for mass plantings, adding color to mixed, perennial or shrub borders, as a foundation plant or as a container plant. Oso Happy Candy Oh! Rose was developed by David Zlesak in Minnesota.
Oso Happy Candy Oh! Rose Care
Oso Happy Candy Oh! Rose is very hardy and deer and disease resistant. It will attract butterflies, bees and other pollinators to your garden. Spring is the only time this plant typically requires care. Spring is the best time to prune since it blooms on new wood. Also apply a controlled release rose fertilizer as directed on the package in the spring.
Oso Happy Candy Oh! Rose Spacing
Space individual plants 4 to 5 feet apart, center on center. Plant closer to 4 feet apart if you wish to create a border or small rose hedge. In garden planters, use a container that is at least 3 feet wide.
