Passionate Kisses® rose features delicate salmon-pink colored flowers that bloom nonstop from late spring to the fall with minimal maintenance required. This floribunda rose is a vigorous grower and prolific bloomer, perfect for any garden or large container. The long stems on Passionate Kisses® are great to use in long-lasting arrangements and are sturdy enough to hold the large 3 ½ inch flowers proudly upright. The growth covers the base of the shrub, so there is no need to use facer plants with Passionate Kisses®.
The lightly fragrant flowers and solid green foliage are resistant to most pests and diseases. Deer and rabbits rarely browse this Passionate Kisses®. Plant this fantastic shrub rose in a dedicated rose garden, cottage garden, or container for a patio, balcony, or deck seating area. Passionate Kisses® also looks amazing in informal hedges, where its exceptional color can be highlighted.
Passionate Kisses® Rose Care
Roses grow and flower best when they receive at least 6 hours of direct sun a day. Growers in warm climates may want to provide protection from hot afternoon sun. Well-draining but moisture-retentive soil is important for healthy root growth. A rich, loamy soil texture is ideal, although sandy or clay soils can be amended with compost prior to planting. Supplemental watering with soaker hoses or drip irrigation lines will help prevent bacterial and fungal diseases. Feed the rose in early spring with a slow-release formulation for roses or other blooming plants.
Passionate Kisses® roses do not require a complicated pruning regimen. Late winter is the right time to cut back any stems that are dead, dying, damaged from the winter, or crossing other stems. To rejuvenate growth, cut the rose back to 8 inches above the soil. Heavy pruning results in dense, compact growth and prolific flowers. Regular cutting of bloom stems is a good way to deadhead the plant while providing cut flowers for your home. Make cuts inside the shrub to keep its shape mounded with no naked stems visible.
Passionate Kisses® Rose Spacing
The overall height and spread of Passionate Kisses® roses is 3-4 feet. Space plants 4 feet apart to allow for vigorous yearly growth and to provide good air circulation around all plants. Planters with at least an 18-inch diameter are recommended for planting single shrub roses.
