Feathery plumes of peachy-pink blooms give the Peach Blossom Astilbe a burst of color and a soft texture. This beauty starts to bloom in late May, with flowers lasting until July. Dark green fern-like leaves with serrated edges anchor the colorful flowers. This medium-sized plant is low-maintenance and grows as a perennial in USDA zones 4 through 8.
This lush plant is a great option to include in a bed, border, or mass planting. The feathery flowers and foliage give a landscape a meadow or woodland garden look. Make sure to trim some of the flowers to feature in a vase. Pollinators like butterflies and hummingbirds are drawn to the pretty flowers, but the plant is deer-resistant.
Peach Blossom Astilbe Care
Peach Blossom Astilbe needs full to partial sun, but this plant prefers morning sun and afternoon shade. Plant in rich, acidic, well-drained soil. This plant can handle wet conditions but let the soil mostly dry out before watering.
Fertilize Astilbe using a balanced plant food during the spring. Leave the growth in place during the winter and trim back dead growth in the spring.
Peach Blossom Astilbe Spacing
Peach Blossom Astilbe is an upright plant that will grow 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. Plants can be spaced 16 to 20 inches apart to enjoy a full, meadow-like planting.
