A spectacular reblooming shrub! Waves of blossoms occur from late spring through fall, with tubular apricot-pink flowers and lush green foliage. The endless blooms of Peach Kisses™ Weigela also attract the attention of pollinators and hummingbirds. Hardy to USDA zones 4-7, this compact shrub has a tidy, rounded form while providing season-long color.
If never-ending blooms weren't enough, Peach Kisses™ Weigela is also deer resistant and low maintenance! Growing to just 2-4 feet tall, this plant can fill a variety of roles in the landscape. Suitable for containers, borders, pollinator gardens, and mass plantings, this shrub will surely find a home in your garden.
Peach Kisses™ Weigela Care
Plant Peach Kisses™ in full to partial sun, with more sun leading to more flowers. Choose a site with well-drained soil and water well until established. Peach Kisses™ Weigela will need more moisture during hot and dry spells. It is best planted in spring or fall to aid in quick establishment. The soil can range from 5.5-7.5 pH and can benefit from addition of organic matter or a slow-release fertilizer in spring.
Peach Kisses™ Weigela blooms on previous year’s growth. It will put on its best show of flowers in spring before sending out additional flushes of blooms in summer and fall. To encourage a more vigorous flower display, deadhead and lightly prune back the plant in spring after the first wave of flowers has ended. For shaping, prune out older wood in late winter or early spring. Remove any dead branches regularly.
Peach Kisses™ Weigela Spacing
Peach Kisses™ Weigela will need 2-4 feet to spread and grow fully. Place it in the middle or front of garden beds so this compact shrub can be seen, or plant in larger containers to allow adequate root growth.
