The Pearl Potion™ Lilac offers up lovely fragrant blooms in a compact form. Tiny, star-shaped pure white flowers bloom in cone-shaped clusters or panicles during the spring. Broad, green leaves have smooth edges and come to a point. The Syringa meyeri is easy to maintain, so you can stop to smell the flowers instead of taking care of this beautiful shrub.
Fragrant blooms are a draw for butterflies, and birds are also attracted to this shrub. The green leaves stay in place for the rest of the growing season, so this deer-resistant shrub will continue to provide lush, visual interest. Use the Pearl Potion™ Lilac to create a hedge or a privacy screen or simply to add height and color to a bed or mass planting. Locate this shrub near a porch or patio, so you can fully enjoy the fragrant flowers while they are blooming, or trim the flowers to use in arrangements.
Pearl Potion™ Lilac Care
This lilac requires full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soil. Deeply water the plant every week and a half to two weeks. Fertilize your lilac in early spring using balanced plant food.
Prune the plants to maintain their shape after the flowers are done blooming. The plant will set the following year’s buds shortly after the flowers fade, so prune before the buds are set to ensure abundant blooms next year.
Pearl Potion™ Lilac Spacing
This upright perennial will grow 4 to 5 feet tall and 5 to 7 feet wide. Create a hedge or dense planting by spacing shrubs 4 to 6 feet apart.
