Perfect Storm hardy geranium offers the impeccable combination of striking flowers with reliable complementary foliage. The magenta-pink blooms have an unexpected black veining at the center that adds visual dimension and interest. Grey-green foliage has a velvety texture that creates the perfect backdrop for the vibrant flowers. Bees love the flowers, and deer and rabbits stay away.
Often used as a dependable “filler” plant in landscapes, hardy geranium is a lovely companion plant to colorful perennials, foliage plants, and bulbs. The low, mounded growth habit looks lovely along borders, walkways, and woven through the landscape. This is a tough, easy-care perennial that looks great all season long.
Perfect Storm Hardy Geranium Care
Hardy geranium is adaptable to a variety of soils and conditions. It requires very little care once it is established. An established hardy geranium can tolerate low moisture and drought. However, moist, well-drained soil is ideal. It grows best in full or part sun locations. It can grow in shady conditions, but will have a less compact growth habit.
Deadheading and pruning is generally not necessary, but a trim in the late summer can keep it looking tidy, and encourage new foliage to appear. Divide the plant every 3-4 years.
Perfect Storm Hardy Geranium Spacing
Perfect Storm can grow up to 12” tall with a spread of 20”. Plant hardy geranium 20” apart to give the vigorous grower enough space.
