Pink Flower Carpet Rose, Pink Veil Carpet Rose, or Rosa Flower Carpet, is a floriferous deciduous shrub that produces large clusters of fragrant, carmine-pink, double to semi-double rose blooms with fuzzy yellow centers. The flowers of this remarkable Carpet Rose bloom from mid-spring to late fall. Pink Flower Carpet Rose foliage is rich, deep green, and glossy, contrasting beautifully with its vivid pink flowers. It grows from 2 to 3 feet high with a spread of 3 to 4 feet, and is commonly used as a groundcover.
Bred by Werner Noack in Germany, the Pink Flower Carpet Rose has a vigorous, arching, bush-like growing habit. It is black spot, powdery mildew, and rust resistant, as well as easy-to-grow, spreading quickly as the season progresses. They are hardy, beautiful, high-performing, and low-maintenance. Perfect for any landscaping project. An added bonus is that they attract critical pollinators, who can’t resist their plentiful, elegant blooms.
Pink Flower Carpet Rose Care
Pink Flower Carpet Rose can be planted during the spring, summer or fall. It prefers full sun and will perform best in areas with ample sunlight. If planted in areas with partial sun or dappled shade, the Pink Flower Carpet Rose may produce fewer blooms. Pink Flower should be watered regularly, but after it has been established, it is tolerant of both heat and drought. The ideal soil for your Pink Flower is garden soils with added organic matter and good drainage.
Your Pink Flower Carpet Rose will not require special pruning and does not need to be dead-headed once the flowers are spent. Simply cut back your Pink Flower Carpet Rose by one to two-thirds in the late winter or early spring. To create a more ground-hugging form, cut vertical stems back to the plant’s main stem. Your Pink Flower will be dormant in the late fall and winter months. It may benefit your Pink Flower to cover the base with mulch to protect its crown from frigid winds and cold.
Pink Flower Carpet Rose Spacing
At planting, space your Pink Flower Carpet Roses 3 to 4 feet apart. Pink Flower Carpet Rose is a perfect choice for mixed garden beds or as a loose low hedge. They are ideal for pots and containers and make stunning hanging baskets.
