Pink Mink Clematis vine will provide an abundance of bright two-toned pink blossoms in your garden for months. This plant won the Silver Medal Plantarium 2011, Gold Medal at Green Is Life and Silver Medal at Flowers 2011 awards. It was hybridized by the clematis master, Szczepan Marczyński. Marczynski is known for hybridizing clematis to produce numerous flowers. This plant is a butterfly and hummingbird magnet and the flowers can be cut to create bouquets.

Pink Mink Clematis x ''Krakowiak'' will produce bright pink 3 to 4-inch-wide flowers with a thick magenta stripe down the center of each of its curled petals from early summer into autumn. Grow it in a sunny to partially sunny location in USDA planting zones 4 to 9. You’ll need a large space for this vining plant to have room to spread its beauty. The vines will ultimately reach 9 to 10 feet in height/length with a spread of approximately 6 feet.

Pink Mink Clematis Vine Care

Pink Mink Clematis is deciduous so it will lose its leaves in the fall. It blooms on new vines, so it can be cut back to a pair of buds about 6 to 12 inches above the ground in the spring. This plant can be used on a trellis or fence, in borders or climbing over shrubs. It’s disease resistant and needs little care besides watering during dry periods. This clematis is in group 3, which means it blooms on new wood. Because of that, the best time to prune is either late winter or early spring. You can cut all the way to the ground if you choose to.

Pink Mink Clematis Vine Spacing

It’s often grown as a focal point in the garden or over an arch or covered walkway. It can also be grown in a large container. Space plants 72 to 78 inches apart in a garden setting.

    Pink mink...

Posted by Rick Kurtzweil on May 27, 2021

Very healthy looking root system, would have received a five star rating had the plants been more mature on top. The FedEx driver which delivered the package handed it to me personally on its side. I think the plants are fine. just an FYI. Thanks again!
