Growing Zones
If you are looking for a tough rose that is winter hardy, then the Pink Pavement Rose may just be the answer. It produces semi-double, mauve-to-pink blooms up to four inches across, which will wow, whether left on the plant or cut for the home. Over time, Pink Pavement can grow to 4-6 feet high with a spread of 3-4 feet. As a Rosa rugosa hybrid, Pink Pavement is tough, has great disease resistance, and readily captivates bees.
As a robust and low-maintenance rose, Pink Pavement needs little ongoing care and is easy to look after. Its large blooms produce a subtle but delightful scent and contrast beautifully against its green foliage. Whether grown as a specimen or an informal hedge, the Pink Pavement Rose is a great investment.
Pink Pavement Rose Care
To perform best, the Pink Pavement Rose should be grown where it will get full sun. As with all roses, Pink Pavement prefers to be grown in fertile and free-draining soil kept evenly moist. To maintain health and encourage its glorious flowers, a rose fertilizer can be applied throughout the growing season. A layer of organic mulch can be spread around the plant in early spring to help conserve moisture over the warmer months.
Any dead or diseased branches can be removed throughout the year. As the flowers fade, they can be removed to encourage new buds to form. In late winter, some of the oldest stems can be removed at the base to promote new growth.
Pink Pavement Rose Spacing
When mature, the Pink Pavement Rose can grow to an eventual 4-6 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. When planting out as a group or to form a hedge, this rose can be spaced around 3-5 feet apart depending on the desired effect.
