This one has the ‘wow’ factor! This big leaf hydrangea is anything but your normal hydrangea. It has stunning large blooms that vary in color from purple to bright red and they are streaked with a bright green. Its compact size and it is easy to grow. It is easy to see why it's loved by so many!
Its colorful blooms are paired with deep green large foliage. The blooms are colorful, being purple, bright red and bright green. The Hydrangea macrophylla 'Pistachio blooms season is generous, lasting from early summer to fall. This hydrangea is also heat tolerant. It has a compact height of three feet and its spread is also three feet. This hydrangea will stand out anywhere you decide to place it. It works well as a border plant, hedge and in mass planting. It is a stunning focal point. Use its cut flowers in bouquets or flower arrangements. This fast grower will be an eye catcher anywhere in your landscape!
Pistachio Hydrangea Care
This hydrangea can be planted in full sun to part shade. Once it is established it is heat tolerant. It does require moist soil and the soil must be well drained. It is tolerant to varying Ph levels and different soil types. No pruning is necessary. Removed dead wood in early spring after new growth has appeared. The Hydrangea macrophylla 'Pistachio’ has average water needs and should be given more water in times of drought.

When planting near other plants, space your Hydrangea macrophylla 'Pistachio’ three to five feet, center on center. Spacing correctly allows your plants to develop strong roots and ensure its has room to flourish.
