The Platinum Blonde™ Lavender or Lavandula angustifolia has lovely purple flowers, but this plant also puts on a stunning foliage display. The broad leaves boast green variegation and light yellow margins for a unique look. The tiny, fragrant flowers bloom on tall stems and hover over the leaves. Long-lasting flowers bloom in early summer and hold on until the end of summer.

This Lavender has a compact, mounded growth habit. The flowers support pollinators like butterflies. Feature the Platinum Blonde™ Lavender in beds, borders, mass plantings, or containers. Trim the flowers for use in arrangements. This is a hardy plant that is drought and heat tolerant. Grow the Platinum Blonde™ Lavender as a perennial in zones 6 through 8.

Platinum Blonde™ Lavender Care

This Lavender has average water needs. Established plants are drought-tolerant, but water during a dry spell helps this Lavender thrive. Plant it in full sun in dry, well-drained soil. Lavender is not a heavy feeder but you can add compost around the root zone for extra nutrition and moisture retention.

Prune the plant after the first round of flowers fade. Cut back growth by one-third to promote more branching and additional blooms.

Platinum Blonde™ Lavender Spacing

The Platinum Blonde™ Lavender has a mounded, upright growth habit and will stand 16 to 24 inches tall and 18 to 22 inches wide. Space plants 16 to 20 inches apart to create a full look.
